Isaac Dogboe fights Adam Lopez on June 19
Former world champion, Isaac ‘Royal Storm’ Dogboe, has his eyes set on another world title as he comes up against American Adam Lopez at the Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas on June 19.
The 26-year-old Ghanaian is expected to return after 11 months, following an explosive eighth-round stoppage win over Chris Avalos last July.
Dogboe’s fight with Lopez will be a 10 round featherweight “undercard” battle, with the winner getting a world title shot later in the year.
The former WBO Super Bantamweight champion has been working around the clock as quickly as possible to get back to winning ways after losing his title to Emmanuel Navarrete back in 2018 and also in 2019 in an attempt to recapture the title.
In July last year, Dogboe moved in weight to fight Chris Avalos at the featherweight division to announce his return after a 26-month absence from the ring.
Having knocked out Avalos in the 8th round in that bout, fans have been hoping to see him fight again to better his chances of getting a title shot, but the Anyako Royal had a few issues to settle.
After 10 months of inactivity, the Royal Storm Dogboe is now back to business to do what he does best in the square ring.
Adam Lopez (15-2, 6 KOs) hails from Glendale, California, has his two straight wins against former world champion Jason Sanchez in 10 rounds on 13th February 2021, and Oscar Valdez in November 2019.
Speaking ahead of the fight, Lopez said he’s going to prove on fight night that he is a different fighter:
“Dogbe is a former world champion who always comes to fight. But I’m a different fighter now, and I know what a win would mean for my career. I’m coming to Las Vegas to steal the show.” Lopez said.
Sorry lopez you can’t make it
