The Director of Research at the Institue of Economic Affairs (IEA), Dr John Kwakye, has urged the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) to investigate the source of wealth of the immediate past Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Dapaah.
Dr Kwakye, referring to how Victoria Lakshmi Hamah under the previous John Mahama administration paid the price for merely envisioning making $ 1 million in office, said the OSP must also investigate Madam Dapaah.
“Minister Cecilia Dapaah should be investigated by the OSP about the source of her wealth. After all, Victoria Hammah paid a political price for merely envisioning accumulating $1m in office,” Dr Kwakye tweeted after Madam Cecilia Dapaah tendered her resignation in a letter to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Saturday, July 22, barely 48 hours after news of some foreign cash stolen and huge money in the Ghanaian cedis was disclosed to the public.

He added, “The President’s acceptance of Cecilia Dapaah’s resignation presupposes that he finds her conduct reprehensible. As such, he should have reprimanded her and not praised her. Further, the relevant state agencies should investigate how she came by so much money.”
