Introduction of Comprehensive Sexuality Education in Ghana not justifiable -Broadcast Journalist

Broadcast Journalist and Chief Executive of Vim Foundation, Afia Pokua has waded into the on-going debate concerning the introduction of the Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) in basic schools, come next academic year.

According to her, there is no way the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the Ministry of Education can justify the introduction of CSE in basic schools when there are a lot school children learning under trees and other unfavorable conditions.

Ranting on social media, the broadcast journalist, popularly known as ‘Vim Lady’ said, the introduction of CSE is a clear indication of misplaced priorities as a country.

“What can be the justification for this when school children cannot even get food to eat. What is the justification for this when children sit under trees? I am very angry. Come with me to the villages where I build schools. Come and see the conditions in which children are forced to learn. But instead of fixing ‘Schools Under Trees’, providing proper textbooks, food, decent uniforms, and train more teachers for effective teaching, you are introducing books to teach children about how to change their sexual organs?” she wrote.
