Interior Minister reviews curfew hours for Nalerigu township

The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has reviewed the curfew hours for Nalerigu Township and its environs in the North East Region.

Effective Monday, January 5, 2026, the curfew hours will be from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am, as advised by the National Security Council.

In a statement, the Minister urged Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, Youth, and residents to remain calm and exercise restraint in the face of challenges. He emphasised the importance of using non-violent means to promote peace in the area.

Additionally, a total ban has been imposed on carrying arms, ammunition, or any offensive objects/weapons in Nalerigu Township and its environs. Anyone found with arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted.

The Government’s appeal for peace and calm is aimed at ensuring the well-being of the people in the area.
