Interior Minister renews curfew in Bole and Sawla-Tuna-Kalba
The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has renewed the curfew for Bole Township and its neighbouring communities in the Savannah Region.
In a statement, the Ministry announced that the restriction from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m.
The renewal is based on recommendations from the Regional Security Council and has been enacted through an Executive Instrument.
In the statement accompanying the announcement, the Minister urged traditional leaders, youth, and residents to remain composed and address ongoing issues through peaceful means.
Authorities have also specified critical restrictions for the area, which include a complete prohibition on firearms, ammunition, and offensive weapons, with those who violate this ban facing arrest and prosecution.
Additionally, residents are forbidden from riding in pairs or groups on motorbikes and from donning war regalia at any time.
The Interior Minister has similarly renewed the curfew for Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Township and its surrounding areas, keeping the same curfew hours.
