Inside Burna Boy’s luxurious Lagos residence
The serene 13,000-square-foot opulence was supposed to be a 10-bedroom for former Manchester United striker Jude Ighalo.
But Burna Boy’s momager, Bose Ogulu, snagged it with a cold call in 2017.
I couldn’t help myself when I chanced upon an exclusive with Burna Boy on Architectural Digest about his Lagos home. As enthralled as I was, I knew a perfect showcase of the African Gaint’s personal taste when I see one.
In 2020, Grammy winner Burna Boy moved into the two-story seven-bedroom home designed by Akose Enebeli.
The luxurious edifice is divided into two distinct parts. The area where you can find a recording studio, bedrooms for guest artists and a gym.
The other half houses own a primary bedroom suite and a private terrace.
According to Architectural digest, “Burna wanted a swimming pool that started inside the building and then drained outside. In order to make good on the concept, Enebeli built part of the living room so that it would float over the blue-tiled pool with a built-in bar. “You have the view from the main living room through the glass, you see the swimming pool, you see the sunken lounge, and you see the large garden,” the architect says. “So you have an outdoor experience, even when you’re indoors.”
