Ghana’s inflation has shot up marginally to 43.1% in July 2023 from the 42.2% recorded in June 2023.
The 1.4% makes it the third consecutive month of rising inflation for May, June and July 2023.
Food prices rose significantly to 55.0%, whereas non-food items saw inflation at 33.8%.
While announcing the Consumer Price Index (CPI) data for July 2023, Government Statistician Professor Samuel Annim underscored the importance of blending monetary assistance with interventions in the real sector as a strategy to address inflation.
The marginal increase from 42.5% to 43.1% will have an impact on various sectors of the economy.

For the regions, the North East Region recorded the highest inflation of 64.0%, while the Greater Accra Region recorded the lowest inflation of 31.8%.
The new figures were announced on Wednesday, August 9.
