Importer dies in fatal Tema harbour tragedy

A tragic accident at the Golden Jubilee Terminal in Tema Harbour has claimed the life of a young importer, who was crushed by a container-handling machine during an offloading operation.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident happened when a reach stacker was reversing as part of routine port activities.

The victim, who was reportedly standing behind the machine at the time, was struck and trapped beneath its massive tires.

Witnesses described the scene as devastating, as workers and bystanders rushed to help but were unable to save him due to the severity of his injuries.

Port authorities and emergency responders later arrived to secure the area and recover the body.
