I’m yet to receive a dime from NPP after 2016 polls – Bibi Bright
The Executive Secretary of the Creative Arts Council, Bibi Bright has said that the New Patriotic Party is yet to pay her for campaigning for them in the 2016 general elections.
According to her, she used her personal resources to help win power for the NPP in 2016.
“NPP did not give me a dime for my campaign, I did it on my own and it was not because of money,” she said in an interview on JoyPrime.
Responding to a question on whether or not she will accept money from the NPP government for her support, the actress answered in the negative.
Three years ago, Bibi Bright and colleague actors Agya Koo, Maltida Asante and a host of others openly campaigned for then candidate Akufo-Addo in a bid to help the then opposition New Patriotic Party take over the reigns of government in 2017.
Nana Akufo-Addo won the elections with a resounding 53.84% of valid votes cast as against John Dramani Mahama’s 44.40%.
