I’m too wise to support NDC – Actor

Ghanaian actor, Prince David Osei, has thrown his weight behind the governing New Patriotic Party in the 2020 general elections.

According to him, he is too wise to support the National Democratic Congress.

“I’m a wise man, I cannot support something bad, so I beg all of you come December 7, make sure you vote for Akufo-Addo,” the award-winning actor said Sunday during the second edition of NPP’s virtual rally at the 4Syte studio.

Endorsing the NPP for a second term, the actor said President Akufo-Addo has brought dignity and prestige to the presidency, unlike his predecessor.

He also urged the youth and the vulnerable to support the ‘4 more 4 Nana’ campaign to retain the Akufo-Addo-led NPP government for more development.

The virtual rally was organized by the HOPE campaign, a group affiliated with the ruling New Patriotic Party.

Meanwhile, the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress, John Mahama has said that he does not want to involve celebrities in his campaign as he seeks re-election.

Explaining the rationale behind the decision, the former president said he did not want his political activities to affect the careers of celebrities.

“We don’t understand a lot of these things. In Ghana, when a musician makes music for you or for a political party, then he comes against quite a lot of antipathy from supporters of the other party. That shouldn’t be the case, but unfortunately, that is what happens.

“In this particular campaign, I have tried to discourage as much as possible getting celebrities involved in our campaign because it leads to a destruction of their careers… our politics does not understand those things,” he said.
