I’m not scared to fight for position at Kotoko – Ibrahim Danlad

Asante Kotoko SC goalkeeper, Ibrahim Danlad has disclosed categorically clear that he is not scared to stay at Kotoko and fight for his position but admitted he is still in the learning process.

The Black Satellites goalie has revealed he has been learning a lot from all the Kotoko goalies especially from Razak Abalora, Felix Annan and the rest but doesn’t fear to compete with them for the number one spot.

The 18-year-old was with the Porcupine Warriors in the first round but left a short loan spell with King Faisal in the second round where he played a major role to help them avoid relegation in the just-ended season having kept some clean sheets and also grinded two man of the match accolades.
Previously, Ibrahim Danlad had already played for another loan spell with Berekum Chelsea in the 2019/20 season which got truncated by coronavirus.
Speaking on Wontumi TV, the enterprising goalie has stated he is not afraid to compete for a position at Kotoko but only moved elsewhere in the second to practice what he’s learnt so far at the club. He said
“Playing time gives confidence alright but sitting at the bench doesn’t mean I don’t learn. I do learn a lot because I was with the club in the first round and I study a lot from Razak Abalora.”
“So in the second round, I decided to seek for a challenge to apply what I have learnt but is not like I was scared to fight for my position at Kotoko. I wasn’t at all.”
Ibrahim Danlad, 18, has been outstanding since coming into the limelight in 2017 with Black Starlets having helped the Black Satellites to win the CAF U-20 Cup of Nations which was staged in Mauritania early this year and went on to clinch the best goalkeeper of that particular tournament.
