I’ll serve Ghana, no neutrality in fixing wrongs – Gyampo
Professor Ransford Gyampo, the newly appointed Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Shippers Authority (GSA), has affirmed his commitment to addressing systemic wrongdoing without remaining neutral.
In a Facebook post following his appointment by President John Mahama, Prof. Gyampo declared:
“There can be no neutrality when one is tasked with helping to right what is wrong in the service of the nation.”
Expressing gratitude for the appointment and the congratulations he received, he pledged to serve Ghana diligently.
“Thank you, Prez Mahama, and humbled by the many congratulatory texts. I’ll serve Ghana.”
Prior to his appointment, Prof. Gyampo was a distinguished political science professor at the University of Ghana and a well-known independent voice on national issues. His bold stance on governance and transparency earned him widespread respect.
President Mahama’s decision to appoint individuals perceived as non-partisan to key roles has been widely praised as a step towards dismantling the winner-takes-all political system.
Prof. Gyampo’s appointment exemplifies this approach, signalling a renewed focus on merit and accountability in public service.
