IGP Visits Legendary Musician Kojo Antwi To Commiserate With Him (Photos)

The Inspector General of Police Dr. George Akuffo Dampare has led a Police delegation pay a courtesy call on the legendary highlife musician Kojo Antwi after the death of his father.

Kojo Antwi sadly announced the death of his 104-year-old father by the name Opanin Kwadwo Asiamah Asubonten on January 2, 2023, to the public with fans and well-wishers sending their consoling words to him via social media and in person.

On Wednesday, February 1, 2023, the award-winning highlife musician announced on his Facebook page that he least expected that the honorable Inspector General of the Ghana Police Service Dr. George Akuffo Dampare will visit him in person to comfort him in time like this as he is mourning the father.

He thanked the IGP for the comforting words and for making time to visit him to console him personally. He used the opportunity to invite all his fans to the 40 days observance celebration for the late father. On his Facebook page, he wrote, “In times of loss and sorrow, our faith and human comfort are of great help indeed. Thank you to Ghana’s IGP Dr. George Akufo Dampare and all the good men and women you lead to protect and serve our nation. Awer3kyekyer3 wo onipa nky3n. Thank you for every prayer, kind word, and comfort. God bless you all. All are cordially invited to my late Father’s 40 DAYS OBSERVANCE at The Police Officers’ Mess Forecourt, Police Training School, Accra on Saturday 11th February 2023 from 10 am to 5:30 pm. Peace, love & togetherness”.

Meanwhile, other celebrities like Daddy Lumba and Great Ampong have also visited the IGP, Dr. Dampare previously with the aim of establishing a cordial relationship with him and the entire security agency in Ghana.
