IGP orders probe into alleged GH¢400k MoMo withdrawal involving Kibi police

The Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has initiated an investigation into the allegations presented in a viral video, which asserts that certain police personnel at Kibi were implicated in the unauthorised withdrawal of GH¢400,000 from the mobile money account of a mobile money agent.

The IGP has instructed the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) to carry out a comprehensive investigation into the claims that are circulating on social media.

According to the police, the alleged victim has been contacted and is cooperating with the investigators as efforts are ongoing to ascertain the facts surrounding the incident.

The Police Service has assured the public that the investigation will be carried out with professionalism and that the results will be communicated once the process is concluded.
