Gospel singer, Jeshurun Okyere has asked Gospel Music lovers to treat comments made by Paa Boateng against Joe Mettle and Brother Sammy with a pinch of salt.

Jeshurun believes Paa Boateng, having been irrelevant for a while just wants to pick on fellow gospel artists to make it unto the tabloids.

Gospel Musician, Paa Boateng some weeks ago said, worship songs sung by fellow gospel acts like Joe Mettle and Brother Sammy do not draw the presence of God.

Responding to the claims, Jeshurun Okyere said he believed it was time for acts in the gospel music industry to take things more seriously.

“Let’s take things seriously and ignore people who want to trend and so pick on other people. See, controversy has never helped the gospel industry, it will rather kill you the artist pushing that agenda,” he said.

The ‘Yahweh’ singer said, gospel ministration is not about fame and attention seeking but rather about propagating the good news in order to win souls for Christ.

“Gospel music is not about us, it is about God and God doesn’t use backbiting, envy, lies, hatred to draw people to himself, let just be careful” he advised.

He said, Joe Mettle is one of the best Gospel Musicians in the country whose songs are spirit filled.

Joe Mettle has meanwhile refused to openly criticise his colleague, Paa Boateng over the latter’s comments against him.

According to Joe Mettle, “God is the one who judges [the one] who has the spirit or not, but once you do gospel, you work with the spirit of the Lord.”
