If you make money legally, don’t be afraid to show others the way – Shatta Wale
Ghanaian dancehall musician, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, better known by his stage name Shatta Wale, has sent out a warning to anyone engaged in fraudulent activity.
In a December 14, 2025, Facebook post, Shatta Wale cautioned those involved in illicit financial activities to exercise caution when showcasing their fortune on social media.
He clarified that people who make money legally should not be reluctant to share their sources of income in order to encourage and mentor others.
“If you make money legally like Shatta Wale, don’t be afraid to show others the way. But if the money is illegal, be careful. Ghetto youth, if you joke with it, they will wipe you out… Adey tell you!” he said.
In a sperate post on X, citing himself as an example, the dancehall performer further asserted that he is frequently the target of jealousy due to his popularity and fortune.
The “Street Crown” singer fiercely denied accusations that he was involved in fraudulent activities, claiming that he has accomplished much at a relatively young age through his music career.
“A life like this, as a young man, is enviable, I know. But na God use music take do am. I am sorry,” he added.
His comments come amid growing social media discussions linking him to alleged fraud cases, following recent arrest of Abu Trica by the FBI and the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) on accusations of online fraud and romance scam.
