‘If every house must be broken down for National Cathedral, it must be done’ – Lawrence Tetteh

Founder and leader of Worldwide Miracle Outreach, Dr. Lawrence Tetteh has said building a national cathedral is a must for Ghana.

Speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of the National Cathedral, Dr. Tetteh said, even if government were to demolish all buildings in Accra to build the National Cathedral, it must be done.

“Building a cathedral is the most important thing to do, people have questioned why we are breaking buildings, even if we can break the whole of Accra and use it to build the house of God so be it.” he told JoyNews’ Maxwell Agbagba.

The decision to erect a national cathedral has been met with criticisms from sections of the public who say the project is not a priority while Ghanaians struggle with access to basic social services.

But according to the preacher, building a national cathedral is as important as any other issue.

“As for me building a national cathedral is just as building a house of God so it doesn’t matter whether you belong to the NPP or the NDC or any other political party.

“… it not about Nana Addo or Mahama. It is about God,” he insisted adding that “when it comes to building the house of God, I will not politicize it.”

It would be recalled that a private business man, Jonathan Holm, petitioned the Supreme Court to halt the construction of the cathedral.

His concern was that the government had breached portions of the constitution in allowing state land to be used in a manner that did not serve the public interest.

The court, in a unanimous decision, last month refused his application.

It will also include, a grand central hall, a music school, Africa’s first-ever Bible Museum and a documentation center.

Ghana needs a military intervention right now. The Ghana Armed Forces have a duty to defend Ghana and remove this evil oppressor ruler at Once! We needs modern world class dual carriage roads with well trained and well equipped highway police patrol to ensure real road safety and you are talking about National Cathedral? We need sufficient and well resourced hospitals across the country and more schools with well paid teachers and you are talking about national cathedral???? Fooooools!

Yaw when the Jubilee House was being built the very people who objected to it were the very people who occupied it first

Wofa Yaw, the needs of Ghana are well articulated by you correctly however, you seem to have forgotten that military men and women don’t build a nation. The military rule in Ghana didn’t benefit the nation in any way. In fact that is the reason why Ghana is still languishing behind many nations of like size and resources. The unleashing of corruption to another high levels by successive military governments opened the door and left a legacy for the subsequent politicians to take it to even higher levels that we see today in Ghana by all political parties.
Yes I am all for the infrastructural developments you’ve kindly articulated but definitely NO to military rule in Ghana.
      Yours, Kwesi Nimo

Akuffo Addo, just like Mahama, has shown his lack of understanding of what Ghana needs. Just like Mahama, he’s unfit to lead Ghana. Those who continue to support, defend and rationalize his actions and non-actions need to rethink. At the rate the country is being mismanaged the damages could be irreparable.

How about starting off by leading by example and selling off all his personal houses and properties and donating all the proceeds to the building of the so called unwarranted cathedral, what hypocrisy, put your money where your mouth is because talk is cheap, what nonsense, not all of us are as gullible as he presumes.

Akufo addo made a pledge to his god or our God Almighty? It is his pledge so he should use his own resources to redeem his pledge to his god, not our resources. Our Almighty God will save his country Ghana from this devil of a president.

I really like the idea of the cathedral but my only problem is the location, there are so many government lands, why do they have to break down new buildings, there are so many lands around greater Accra which are in developing areas the beautiful cathedral can be build there so other parts of capital city can also be experience the development of the country, are they tell us that we only have to develop only one part of the country this my only problem I have with, I am not happy with the location, but building the cathedral I am for it 100% ,thanks

I used to adore this man of God but this from him has made me changed my mind about him, that at long last he is also one of them. Any pastor who supports this cathedral thing is an occult and not a true man of God. Nana Addo a Freemason can not be building fir the true God that we serve, he has gone to vow to his master and he is putting up a cathedral. The bible says no man can serve two Gods, so am surprised that people who know about Freemasons will support this. Watch all those supporting this cathedral thing well

The end time agents are now coming innocently through what they think they are smart in.build the catedral and later pass out the law that is a must for all Christians come to gather and worship there that had been done in Romans time that made Christians worshiped God of the sun in the sense that they wanted to eliminate Yohannes but no avail as the Romans promised they will not persecute Christians again if they all come to worship with them.Agents we will not follow you to hell, let your family accompany you.
