If creatives influenced election, Democrats would rule US forever – Bridget Otoo
The controversy surrounding Stonebwoy’s removal from the National Democratic Congress (NDC’s) Victory Concert which took place at the forecourt of Legon stadium yesterday has sparked intense debate.
Many fear that his fanbase, particularly from areas like Ashaiman, who issued a statement prior to the concert to withdraw support from the party if their idol was excluded , will potentially hurt their chances in future elections.
However, media personality Bridget Otoo has a differing opinion. She believes that creatives, like Stonebwoy, don’t have a significant impact on election outcomes.
Bridget Otoo’s point is that if celebrities truly held significant sway over election outcomes, the US Democrats would have won every election, given their frequent collaborations with influential stars like Beyoncé, Cardi B, and Lady Gaga.
In a post of X(Twitter), she wrote,
“To me, creatives do not impact elections. If they did, the Democrats would have never lost an election. Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, LeBron James, and others endorsed Kamala, yet they still didn’t win. People vote based on their pockets, not because of Azonto,” Bridget Otoo argued.

Bridget Otoo expressed her desire for creatives to achieve financial stability through their craft, ultimately freeing them from dependence on political parties for financial support.
“I also pray creatives make enough money from their crafts so they don’t have to rely on the political class for survival,” she said.
The NDC Victory concert took place at the forecourt of Legon Stadium in Accra on Sunday, January 5 with performances by Ohemaa Mercy, Perpertual Didier, Rex Omar, D’ija, Jack Alolome among a host of others.
