I was treated the same way like my sons when I was playing for Black Stars – Abedi Pele reveals
Ghana football legend, Abedi Pele, says he was treated the same way as his sons when he was playing for the senior national team, the Black Stars.
Jordan and Andre have been criticized over the years by several football fans with some calling for their exclusion from the team.
The two have been playing for the Black Stars for over a decade now and are among the relied-upon senior players in the team.
Questioned how he reacts to these criticisms, the three-time African Footballer of the Year disclosed he has no qualms about that.
“They’ve never got it wrong; they’ve never,“ he responded when the questioner Sammy Yeboah said sometimes Jordan and Andre Ayew get it wrong, before adding, “what I can say is they’ve never left me alone. When I was playing, it was the same.
“So, I have nothing wrong with it. Because they know you have it and you can do it that is why they come at you.
“If you don’t have it, nobody will call your name,” the 1993 Champions League winner with Marseille added.
The 59-year-old was part of the last group of Black Stars to win the Africa Cup of Nations 41 years ago in Libya.
