Ghanaian rapper and a music producer Elom Adablah, known as E.L says he was sued and fined for sampling ‘Efa Wo Ho B3n’ choral song.

E.L. said he was sued two years after the release of the song for violating the copyright law that guides the music industry.

According to him, the legal suit made him learn some lessons which he believes will not trigger him to offend anyone in the industry by sampling their songs without their consent.

“That one they sued me and I had to pay some heavy block but it has made me learn my lesson”, he stated.

Speaking on how to avoid future illegalities in his profession, the award-winning artist was of the view that he will often use local languages and other foreign words that no artist might have used in their lyrics.

“So with the lines that I used in my Chop Life song as for that one yawa no go come. As for that one, it’s our street rhymes that I used in my song so it doesn’t really belong to anybody and my mum is a Ga native woman,” he explained

“I feel I’m entitled to use some of our jargon and our street anthem in my songs and it’s something we grew up singing but nobody came to hold anybody’s neck”, he added.
