I want to be richer than my father, says Ken Agyapong Jnr
Ghanaian entrepreneur and co-founder of the Afrofuture festival, Ken Agyapong Jnr has said that he wants to be richer than his father Kennedy Agyapong, MP for Assin Central.
According to him, his parents have laid the foundation for him to expand so he can not just sit down and be comfortable.
Speaking on the Entertainment Roundtable on Saturday (6 July) Agepong said, “I think I can do it, you have to set a goal because I have the opportunity to not start from zero.”
“I always tell my dad, God forbid, if he dies he doesn’t have to leave me with anything he should give everything to the rest of my siblings, because I am the second oldest.”
“And I have been working with him for a long time so I should be the one to be taking care of my siblings if he’s not there. He started from zero; now he’s at one I should be at two then my other siblings and children should add on to it,” he added.
“I do a lot of things, like I sell shea butter, I make clothes as well. I can’t just say my father is Kennedy Agyapong so this is the point to relax.”
Kingdom Tour concert
Grammy award-winning artist Kirk Franklin, together with the renowned American contemporary Christian band Maverick City Music, will be hosting a Kingdom Tour concert in Accra.
Speaking on the Kingdom Tour concert happening on 18 August Agyapong said, “It was because of previous experience that we have with doing events… that’s why it was easy getting this for Ghana.”
“I wanted to tap into a different market as well to work with Maverick City, Kirk Franklin… The fact that I do secular events doesn’t mean I can’t get involved in gospel stuff, you can’t just corner yourself into one box, you have to also explore. This is our first time we are trying to do 50, 000 people…”
This event is organised in collaboration with Culture Management Group and is part of their Africa tour in August 2024.
