Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana UK Based Achievement Awards (GUBA), Dentaa Amoateng, has shared revealing secrets to her success.

The Entrepreneur says she sold off her brand-new car to start the popular awards scheme.

“To do the awards I had to sell off my car because when you are starting, you won’t always get people that believe in you to sponsor you, and sometimes, you’ll have to sacrifice” she explains.

In an interview on ‘The Standpoint’ on GTV, monitored by theghanareport.com, the Member of the British Empire (MBE) honouree advised young entrepreneurs to learn how to sacrifice and take calculated risks that will help realise their dreams.

“I sold my brand-new car because I had to sacrifice and I wanted to see this vision work and for it to work you don’t expect the person working for you to sacrifice their car, you have to do it”

“I remember after the awards, I was walking with my son to a shop and it was raining, but we had to go and that was when it dawned on me my car was gone. But when I look back now……it was worth it” she added.

The Ghana UK Based Achievement (GUBA) Awards is an annual awards ceremony based in Britain which recognizes the “hugely significant” contribution that British-Ghanaians make to society.

The Awards donates proceeds towards charitable schemes operating within the Ghanaian community and provides an “engaging platform” for promoting greater cultural diversity in the UK as well as raising the profile of Ghana.
