I have locked-up funds at Menzgold – Actor
Actor cum movie producer, Eddie Nartey, has revealed he has locked up funds at the defunct gold dealership company, Menzgold.
Nartey, who was the Artiste and Repertoire Manager for the Arts club formed under Zylofon Media, a sister company of Menzgold, said he invested all his life savings with the financial house.
Speaking on the Delay Show, the actor said barely a year after investing with the gold dealership company, it started having problems with the Security and Exchange Commission over licensure issues.
“Yes, my money is at Menzgold, all my savings. But I am a soldier, I’ll survive”
Asked about whether he thought the company would bounce back, his response was indifference.
“If it does, fine I get my money back but if it doesn’t, like a soldier I’ll survive,”, he told Delay.
Expressing disbelief over the collapse of Zylofon Media, Nartey said he joined the company with the mindset of contributing to shaping the future of arts in Ghana, just as South Africa had done with Mnet and Nigerian with Ebony.
“I went to Zylofon with a lot of enthusiasm and passion because just as the entertainment industry in Nigeria and South Africa, I thought Zylofon would give us the platform to reach that standard in terms of filmmaking and the entertainment we all crave for,” he stated.
