I am ready for the run-off – Boakye Agyarko dismisses withdrawal rumours
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer Hopeful, Boakye Agyarko, has dismissed rumours that he is stepping down from the presidential race.
Mr Agyarko, who is also the former Energy Minister, said he is determined to participate in the upcoming run-off, which will determine the outcome of the tie between himself and fellow flagbearer hopeful, Francis Addai-Nimoh.
It will be recalled that the purpose of the Special Delegates Conference was to narrow down the field to five candidates for the ultimate showdown on November 4, 2023.
However, the results obtained by Mr. Agyarko and Mr. Addai-Nimoh led to a deadlock at the 5th position.
The candidate who emerges victorious will join Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, former Trade Minister Alan Kyerematen, and former Minister for Food and Agriculture Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, to compete in the November 4 primaries.
Below is a statement to that effect.
