I am confident local Black Stars will retain WAFU trophy – Sports Minister

The Ministry of Youth and Sports says it is confident that the home-based Black Stars team will win in the final match against the host nation, Lions of Senegal on  Sunday.

The team is set to go against the Lions of Senegal on Sunday, 13th October, 2019 for this year’s West African Football Union (WAFU) Cup of Nations final.

In a statement signed by the Minister for Youth and Sports, Isaac Kwame Asiamah, he said he is hopeful the team will win the final against the host nation.

“As the winners of the 2017 WAFU Cup of Nations, I am optimistic that the team will remain focused, avoid complacency in order to retain the trophy for the people of Ghana, ” the Minister said in a statement.

He urged Ghanaians to rally behind the team as they strive to win the trophy back home.
