How a 12-year-old boy ‘mistakenly’ murdered his own father
A 12-year-old boy has allegedly murdered his 60-year-old father at Pipiiso in the Adansi-Asokwa District in the Ashanti Region.
Kwaku Akroma bled to death after he got injured in a tussle over his wife’s sandals, which their son was shredding.
The boy is reported to have had a disagreement with his mother over GH₵ 70. Out of anger, he resorted to cutting up his mother’s pair of slippers.
But his idea of teaching his mother a lesson was not welcomed by Kwaku Akroma, who was at home at the time.
The Adansi-Asokwa District Police Commander, Superintendent Albert Nii Ochil, who narrated the incident said:
“The gentleman aged between 12 and 14 years was cutting the mother’s slippers into pieces for allegedly taking some money belonging to him.”
“The mother wasn’t there, but the father was around and tried to stop him from cutting the slippers but in the process, the knife cut the father’s hand. He bled to death.
“The people around tried to stop the blood but after some time, the blood was not stopping so they rushed him to the nearest hospital, but he died at 11:30,” he said.
The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Peaceland Mortuary at Adiemera in the Adansi Asokwa District for autopsy.
The boy and his mother are assisting the police in their investigations.
