The CEO of Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Akwasi Agyemang has asked organisers of African Legends Night, Global Media Alliance to host the event in other regions.
He said patrons in other regions should equally have an experience of the annual event which has featured top African artistes such as Hugh Masekela, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Femi Kuti, Kanda Bongoman, Awilo Longomba and Freddie Meiway.
Speaking with Graphic Showbiz on the sidelines of the launch of this year’s African Legends Night held at The National Museum of Ghana, Mr Akwasi Agyemang said even though the yearly show had huge patronage, many patrons had been limited by distance to be part of it.
“I am sure there are so many Ghanaians who would like to attend this event but are not able to do so because the event is not within their jurisdiction but I am sure if it were closer to them, they might probably be part of it. This is a passionate appeal from me to the organisers,” he stated.
This year’s event marking the 10th anniversary is themed, “Celebrating Music of African Origin”. It will take place at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on Friday, December 2.
The upcoming show will witness performances from Rex Omar, Amakye Dede, Efya and Samini.
According to Global Media Alliance, the 10th anniversary has only Ghanaian artistes on bill.
