One person has lost their life while 16 others have been injured as a result of a road incident at Peki Tsame, close to Mawutor Inn on the Peki–Asikuma highway.
The event transpired when a Toyota Hiace bus, bearing registration number GT 7012-24, reportedly experienced a rear tyre failure and subsequently overturned.
In a Facebook update on Friday, February 13, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) stated that personnel from the Peki Fire Station, under the leadership of ADO I Godwin Gbedemah, promptly arrived at the scene and assisted the trapped victims.
The injured individuals, consisting of eight males, seven females, and one child, were transferred to the National Ambulance Service and taken to the Peki Government Hospital for medical care.
The GNFS reported that one of the victims later succumbed to their injuries at the hospital, while the other casualties are said to be in stable condition.
