A tragic accident at Akyem Boadua in the Eastern Region has claimed the lives of eight individuals, with six others severely injured.
The incident took place in the early hours of Friday, March 7, 2025.
Reports indicate that five victims died at the scene, while three others succumbed to their injuries after being rushed to the hospital.
The vehicle was traveling from Kade to Accra, and although the driver was unfamiliar with the road, he was reportedly driving at high speeds.
Passengers expressed concerns and urged him to slow down, but he disregarded their pleas.
Shortly after navigating past Adankrono and approaching Pentemtwam, the driver lost control of the vehicle, possibly due to the overgrown vegetation that limited visibility.
The vehicle then flipped multiple times before crashing. Following the accident, the driver fled the scene.
