Former President and the NDC presidential candidate for the 2024 elections John Dramani Mahama has listed some critical questions for Vice President and NPP candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to provide answers.

Mr Mahama insists that Dr Bawumia should respond to these questions, just as he [Dr Bawumia] once demanded answers to 170 statements from former Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur.

During a recent tour of the Northern Region, Mr Mahama criticized Dr Bawumia for shifting his focus from pressing economic issues to digitalization initiatives.

He argued that this shift demonstrates a neglect of urgent economic challenges that require attention.

Mr Mahama pointed out that Dr Bawumia, who once spoke passionately about economic matters, has seemingly abandoned this focus.

“He used to be vocal about the economy,” Mahama said, adding, “Now he can’t even mention ‘economy’; it’s all about ‘digitalization’.”

Consequently, he demanded responses to the questions below.

Here are 5 Questions for Bawumia

1. Why is the exchange rate GH¢17 cedis to $1?

2. Why has Ghana’s debt risen from GH¢120 billion to GH¢767 billion in eight years?

3. Why is inflation where it is, why did it rise to 54 per cent under your administration for eight years?

4. Why did you borrow GH¢42 billion from the Bank of Ghana and cause the Central Bank to post its heaviest loss of GH¢60 billion?

5. Why have you run away from giving lectures on the economy?
