Heavy Downpour Destroys Properties At Ahibenso

A heavy downpour on Tuesday, January 24, caused massive destruction to buildings and other properties at Sehwi Ahibenso in the Bodi District of Juabeso-Bia, Western Region.

The havoc left several residents stranded, without a place to sleep.

The heavy downpour did not only affect buildings, but the accompanying heavy wind also uprooted a cashew tree which fell on a Kia Sportage car that was parked nearby.

Speaking to the media, some residents stated they were devastated as they had nowhere to lay their heads and do their duties.

They said their clothes, beds, mattresses and other items had been destroyed.

Consequently, they appealed to the government, benevolent individuals and corporate institutions to come to their aid.

Also, one of the victims, Akwasi Nketiah, disclosed that his car had been damaged beyond repair, explaining that it took the efforts of chainsaw operators to remove the heavy log that fell on his car.

Meanwhile, the Assemblyman for Ahibenso electoral area, Stephen Armah, has appealed to the government to come to their aid as the situation was beyond their control.
