Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder Salim Adams is set to join the United States of America-based club FC Cincinnati on loan.

The club announced on Tuesday evening that Adams would spend the entire 2022 season at the MLS club with an option to purchase, pending league and federation approval, ITC and work authorisation.

Adams joins FCC 2 as part of the Common Value Club Alliance, a collaboration between FC Cincinnati of the Major League, TSG Hoffenheim of the German Bundesliga, and current Ghana Premier League champions Hearts of Oak.

He is the first to make a move from Accra Hearts of Oak under this collaboration.

“I’m excited to welcome Salim to FC Cincinnati,” said Tyrone Marshall, Head Coach of Cincinnati 2.

“He’s a promising midfielder who will be an excellent addition to our group and to the environment we’re trying to create.”

The 19-year-old joined the Accra-based club from second-tier side New Edubiase United FC at the beginning of the 2021/22 season and has made 23 appearances and scored three goals.

He scored his first goal when he made his Hearts debut in the CAF Champions League against Guinean club CI Kamsar.

Adams was the man-of-the-match in the 2022 President’s Cup when Hearts beat bitter rivals Asante Kotoko SC 2-1 to lift the ceremonial title.
