Hearts of Oak target Felix Annan writes to Kotoko for contract termination
The former Black Stars goalkeeper has officially written to the management of Asante Kotoko on his decision to leave the club.
Asante Kotoko skipper Felix Annan has affirmed his decision to end his ten-year stay at the club after struggling for playing time in the last two seasons.
The 26-year-old has communicated to the management of the club to abrogate his contract expected expire in January 2022 by mutual consent.
With Razak Abalora set to remain as Kotoko’s first-choice keeper for the foreseeable future, having arrived for an extortionate amount of money, Annan will look to lay his claim for a starting berth elsewhere.
The highly-rated shot-stopper Felix Annan is on the verge of moving away from Asante Kotoko to rivals and reigning Ghanaian champions Accra Hearts of Oak as his manager had already confirmed that in an interview.
Edging Eric Ofori Antwi out, and eventually becoming the club’s number one and skipper, Annan has had a tumultuous season at Kotoko playing third fiddle to Razak Abalora, and Kwame Baah.
He is expected to lay his calm elsewhere for starting berth following the presence of Razak Abalora and Kwame Baah — both have denied him a place in the sticks in the ongoing season.
Reigning Ghana Premier League champions Hearts of Oak have also been reported weighing options to bolster their squad for next season’s campaign with the former WAFA goalie.
It is believed that Tarkwa based Premier League outfit Medeama SC have also registered interest in signing the 26-year-old as a replacement for Frank Boateng whose contract was terminated earlier this week after the club’s elimination from the FA Cup competition.
Annan who was once Asante Kotoko’s no.1 choice shockingly made only three appearances for the club in the just ended Ghana Premier League season
