Hearts of Oak fans spray players with cash after win over Bechem United
Hearts of Oak fans celebrated a much-needed victory by showering their players with cash after their impressive 2-0 win over Bechem United on Sunday at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
Following a disappointing start to the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League, where the Phobians lost their first two matches, supporters expressed frustration and even called for the removal of head coach Aboubakar Ouattara.
The team delivered a strong performance in match week three, decisively claiming three points.
The breakthrough came just seven minutes into the second half when left-back Ransford Mensah converted a free kick, giving Hearts the lead. The Phobians earned the free kick after Nketsiah Christianson committed a foul just outside the penalty area.
Hearts of Oak maintained their momentum, doubling their advantage in the 75th minute with a well-placed header from Hamza Issa, who capitalized on an excellent assist from substitute Stephen Appiah.
With this victory, Hearts of Oak climbed to 11th place on the league table.
Looking ahead, they will travel to face Nations FC in their next match, while Bechem United prepares to host Dreams FC. Fans eagerly anticipate the upcoming fixtures.
