Hearts coach Ouattara doubts the team’s chances of winning the league
Hearts of Oak coach Aboubakar Ouattara is unsure whether his team could win the Ghana Premier League title in the 2023/24 season.
However, he believes that he has the necessary resources to turn things around because there is no need to rebuild the club’s foundation.
Ouattara took over halfway through the season and had a promising start, remaining undefeated in his first five matches.
However, Gold Stars inflicted his first home defeat in seven games, marking his second consecutive loss.
Speaking after the 1-0 loss, Ouattara said that the team already has a foundation that he could further develop.
“For me, I think this team, we can do it. Not for the league, but we are trying to build. I am not rebuilding the team. I am not there to make a new foundation.
“I’m trying to bring this team to a portable level with the materials I have.”
Hearts of Oak is currently tenth on the league table with 32 points, 13 points behind leaders Samartex after playing 24 games in the season.
The Phobians will face champions Medeama in their next league game on Wednesday.
