Have confidence in me – Bawumia tells Ghanaians
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer aspirant, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has committed to fostering a future characterised by innovation, opportunity, and economic transformation for Ghanaians, should he be elected as president.
During an address to party supporters in Ketu South on November 15, the former Vice President encouraged citizens to place their trust in his leadership as he pursues the nation’s highest office.
“Have confidence in me. You have seen what I can do as Vice President. If you make me president with the full mandate, I will bring ‘Abrokyire’ [foreign investment] to Ghana,” Dr. Bawumia stated.
He urged Ghanaians to look past the current economic difficulties and instead concentrate on the transformative ideas and vision he offers.
“It is not the money in your pocket that will transform Ghana. It is the ideas in your head,” he emphasized.
Dr. Bawumia underscored significant digital and financial sector reforms accomplished during his time as Vice President, citing his track record as proof of his capability to effect greater transformation.
He reminisced, “If you had MTN, you couldn’t move money to someone with Vodafone or Airtel. You couldn’t move money from your bank account to your MoMo account. But I said it was possible for us to do it in Ghana, and we have done it.”
Additionally, he disclosed that the growth of the mobile money sector has generated substantial employment opportunities.
