Gunmen abduct cattle owner in late night attack at Tindugu

Residents of Tindugu in the Saboba District are living in growing fear after a 42-year-old cattle owner was taken by armed men during a late-night attack on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.

The victim, Mallam Daouda, is known in the community for his calm nature and his willingness to support neighbours.

According to eyewitnesses, four armed men stormed the community on two motorbikes and fired several rounds before seizing Daouda, who had been resting under a shed outside his home.

Many residents say the sound of gunfire sent families running indoors as the attackers sped away with him.

The Assembly Member for the area, Andrews Mawie Kusan, confirmed the incident and described the community’s distress.

“The man is kindhearted, so everyone is crying and worried,” he said.

He shared that residents are scared because this marks the second abduction in the area in just three months. In the September incident, the victim managed to escape from captivity.

Police in Wapuli have verified the abduction and forwarded their findings to the Saboba District Command as investigations continue.

This latest attack adds to a troubling pattern of kidnappings recorded across the Yendi, Wapuli and Gushegu stretch this year.

Cases have included ransom demands ranging from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of cedis.

In one incident in November, a middle-aged man lost his life after resisting kidnappers at his home in the Chereponi area.
