The race for the Golden Glove in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season is heating up nicely, and the shot-stoppers are proving that clean sheets are a major factor in winning the GPL.
The Ghana Football Association has released the current top 5 goalkeepers with the most clean sheets, and it’s FC Samartex ’s Zakari Musah who is leading the pack.

Even though Samartex is 6th on the league log, Zakari Musah has been in sensational form between the sticks for the Timber Giants. With 14 clean sheets already under his belt, he has built a solid wall at the back for Samartex.
Week in, week out, Musah has shown sharp reflexes, command of his area, and excellent communication with his backline. His ability to organise the defence and pull off crucial saves in one-on-one situations has made him a key figure in Samartex’s title ambitions. In many matches, when the defenders were beaten, Musah stood tall to keep the scoreline intact.
Hot on Musah’s heels are two goalkeepers tied on 12 clean sheets each: Benjamin K. Asiedu of Bechem United and Mohammed Camara of Asante Kotoko. Asiedu, known for his experience and vocal presence, has been a rock for the Hunters.
His leadership at the back has helped Bechem United grind out vital points, especially in tight away fixtures where resilience is everything. Mohammed Camara, guarding the post for the Porcupine Warriors, has also been immense. Kotoko’s defensive structure has improved significantly this season, and Camara’s consistency has played a major role.
Whether it’s dealing with aerial balls at Baba Yara or making point-blank saves in high-pressure encounters, he has shown why Kotoko remain one of the most formidable sides in the top four of the GPL this season.
In fourth place is Medeama SC’s Felix Kyei with 11 clean sheets. Medeama’s compact defensive shape has allowed Kyei to shine. His shot-stopping ability and quick distribution have often launched counterattacks, turning defence into attack in a flash.
Rounding up the top five is Benjamin Asare of Hearts of Oak with 10 clean sheets. The Phobians have had their ups and downs this season, but Asare has been a steady presence in goal. His composure and bravery in crowded penalty areas have earned Hearts crucial points in tough matches.
As the season progresses, the battle for the most clean sheets will only get tougher. With every matchday, these goalkeepers will be fighting to keep their nets untouched and push their clubs up the league table.
In Ghanaian football, we always say “defense wins you trophies,” and these stoppers are living proof. The golden glove race is well and truly on, and fans across the country will be watching closely to see who finishes as the ultimate safe pair of hands in the 2025/26 campaign.
All the goalkeepers are doing well but I believe Mohammed Camara will win the golden gloves 🧤. Keep it up Baffour Awuah.
The report gives detailed summary of the performances of the goalies. Though, I’ve not watched them all but u are giving me a fair idea of what I should except when watching them for the first time. But in all Camara and Asare stands tall coz they are national team players.
