GPL: I am happy for Johnson Oppong- Karim Zito states after win

Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club head coach Abdul Karim Zito says he is happy for Johnson Oppong who scored in the Porcupine Warriors win over Eleven Wonders.

Kotoko beat Eleven Wonders 2-0 at the University of Ghana Stadium in the Ghana Premier League with Peter Amidu Acquah scoring in the 16th minute and Johnson Oppong scoring in the 89th minute.

Oppong came off the bench to net the goal that effectively sealed the win for Kotoko after Zito’s side endured some testing moments in the game as Eleven Wonders dominated the game.

Speaking after the game, Karim Zito was happy with the win and for the 27 year old former Dreams FC player Johnson Oppong stating that,

“I am happy for him because he struggled [to make it to the first team].”

“If his first game of the season, he has been able to score a goal, I wish every game he would have the opportunity to play, he would increase the tally and the self-confidence will come back to him.”

Kotoko move up to third place in the Ghana Premier League standings after the win; Kotoko take on Bechem United next on December 28.
