GPL: Dreams FC end Hearts of Oak’s unbeaten streak
Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club’s quest to extend its unbeaten run in the 2024-2025 Ghana Premier League to eight games ended in disappointment after suffering a shock loss to Dreams FC.
The Phobians lost 1-0 to Dreams FC at the University of Ghana Stadium. Abdul Razak Salifu scored the only goal of the game in the third minute.
After getting pegged back early in the game, Hearts of Oak recovered to dominate Dreams FC as the Rainbow Club recorded 17 goal attempts with nine shots on target compared to Dreams FC’s five goal attempts with just two of those attempts on target.
Hearts attempted eight corner kicks while Dreams FC had none; Dreams FC goalkeeper Gidios Aseako who attracted strong criticism from Dreams’ head coach Abdul Karim Zito earlier in the season, had a brilliant outing as he made nine saves.

Prior to the loss against Dreams, Hearts of Oak’s last defeat came in December 2024, a 1-0 loss to archrivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

The Ghana League was suspended for multiple weeks after violent clashes at the Nsoatre league centre led to the death of Kotoko fan Francis Pooley Frimpong.
