GPL: Blowing a win late is very painful- Medeama Head Coach on draw with Kotoko

Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has described his team blowing a two goal lead en route to drawing 2-2 with Kumasi Asante Kotoko, as very painful.

The Tarkwa based side stormed to a 2-0 lead getting goals in the fifth and 18th minute respectively through Derrick Fordjour and Yusif Mubarik.

However, Kotoko responded in the second half through Peter Amidu Acquah and captain Samba “O’Neil” Gilbani with the latter’s goal coming via a header in the 92nd minute.

Speaking after the game, Ibrahim Tanko shared his disappointment over his team’s inability to bag all three points away from home.

“We had a very good first half leading 2-0…in the end we lost concentration.”

“Conceding a goal in the 92nd minute from a set piece is very painful. Unfortunately, we didn’t take the three points but I think we can live with this” Tanko said.

The result further compounds the problems for Kotoko as the Porcupine Warriors have just a win in their last six games.
