GPL 2021/2022: Winners For Player, Coach Of The Month For January Announced
Asante Kotoko forward Franck Mbella Etouga has been named NASCO Player of the Month for January in the ongoing 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.
The Ghana Premier League’s leading scorer was announced as the winner following his impressive run performance during the month under review.
Etouga scored five goals in January, including a hat-trick in their win over Accra Lions.
He won two NASCO MVP awards in January’s matches and has scored 13 goals so far this season helping the Porcupine Warriors maintain their position on top of the league table after 18 round of matches.
Etouga beat competition from Ashgold’s Yaw Annor and Karela Utd’s Umar Bashiru, all of whom were impressive in the month.
Coach of the Month
Asante Kotoko’s head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum won the Coach of the Month award for January in the ongoing 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.
Narteh who won the award back in November, led the Porcupine Warriors to four wins and one draw from five games in January, they were wins over Aduana, Medeama, Ashgold and Great Olympics.
The team currently sits on top of the league log with 40 points after 18 round of matches.
He won ahead of fellow contenders Medeama boss, Umar Abdul Rabi, whose side won three and lost one of their six matches last month, Kassim Mingle of Bechem United (two wins, three draws from five matches) and Karela United head coach, Bismark Kobby Mensah (three wins, two draws from five matches).
Both winners are expected to receive a NASCO television each from Electroland Ghana Limited.
