Government secures 12 modern trains for Ghana’s railway transportation system
The government has acquired new trains from Poland for the country’s railway transportation system.
The initial batch of 12 contemporary diesel-powered trains is intended for operation on both regional and long-distance lines of Ghana Railways.
Deputy Information Minister, Fatimatu Abubakar, shared images of the trains on her social media platform, verifying the news on Friday, January 19th.

It is anticipated to be delivered from Poland by the middle of the upcoming month.
The first units of 12 trains for the Ghana Railways Company is to operate both regional and long-distance lines.
The framework contract with the Ghanaian Railways covers 12 diesel multiple units, with 10 vehicles being an option for the ordering party.
