Gospel musician Quame Gyedu embarks on project to support children with disabilities

Songwriter of the Year at the 2022 Ghana National Gospel Music Award (GNGMA), Quame Gyedu, has set up a foundation known as ‘The Able Child Village Project’ to help children with disabilities in Kyekyere in the Ashanti Region.

Quame Gyedu disclosed how his mother suffered in taking care of him when he was a child due to the deformity of his left hand.

This motivated him to embark on a mission to help others in similar situations.

According to Quame, sub-chiefs and heads of schools have shown interest in his project, and he aims to build an apartment to encamp all the children with disability in Kyekyere to equip them with the necessary knowledge and ideas that will make them believe in themselves and have self-confidence.

He hopes to extend the project to other parts of the region, specifically Kumasi. He appealed to the public to support “The Able Child Village Project” in cash or kind by dialling *234*15075* to make the children happy.
