Godwin Dadzawa’s political salvo on Rockson Dafeamekpor

An aspiring NPP parliamentary candidate for South Dayi in the Volta region, Godwin Dadzawa has unleashed his agenda to unseat the incumbent, Rockson Defeamekpor who belongs to the opposition NDC. Usually, a safe seat for the NDC which has the region as its ‘political world bank’, the NPP candidate who is eyeing the seat, has set the constituency boiling, especially the caveat against no other person than Lawyer Dafeamekpor considered an emerging stalwart in Ghana’s legislature.

Candidate Dadzawa who is the District Chief Executive for South Dayi, says the incumbent was only able to win the seat because his previous opponents were ‘old men’ and that he is coming as a youth to challenge another young man. He said the people of South Dayi are fed up with their unchanged circumstances under NDC and are eager to try him on the prospects he vouches for.

Analysts may consider the face-off with the incumbent MP as an audacity on the following grounds. It is an opposition-safe seat and comes against the backdrop of the country’s dire economic straits for which the governing NPP could be taking the flak. Rockson Dafeamekpor has not yet reacted to the simmers.
