God will change your level in 2022 – Methodist priest encourages Ghanaians

“God will restore all lost opportunities and give you an expected end”.

These were the words of the Very Rev. Richmond Abekah as he motivated the members of the Mount Olivet Methodist Church, Dansoman, to embrace 2022 with hope.

Addressing the congregation on the 31st night service with the parable of Joseph and his brothers as documented in the Bible, the Circuit Minister asked members to remain steadfast as God was working to change their situations for the better.

“The novel coronavirus has brought us a lot of hardship but as we enter into a new year, God will restore all your lost opportunities but when he does learn not to be vindictive of others who have wronged you,” he said.

The enthusiastic fan of rapper Kofi Kinaata quoted a line in the song Thy Grace Part II which was recorded in the Twi language.

“Hwɛ adze Wo kitsa Bugatti nso yɛ dze Trotro mpo ama hɔn gap”, to wit “they have Bugatti but we have shown them levels with trotro”.

He said the biblical Joseph was betrayed and sold off by his brothers but God changed his situation and made him the second-in-command in Egpyt.

“And so do not be dismayed for God knows of your plight and he will soon visit you,” he assured.

The minister, therefore, admonished the congregants not to wither in their faith.

He said despite the difficulties in life and the economic retention coronavirus had brought, God would restore his children.

“Ndɛ charcoal seller no, no nso ne ba no w’aahyɛ white, M’awalk through the valley of the shadow of death na sɛ m’ennwu dze aa” to wit “the charcoal sellers child has worn white today”.

He compared Joseph’s life to many who are facing various opposition even from their family.

“Enyim beebi a yefi paa, nka my guy, 3mmbɔ mpae mpo dɛ yɛn fail da,3mmbɔ mpae mpo dɛ yɛn fail” to wit “you wouldn’t pray for my downfall if you knew where I was coming from”.

Kofi Kinaata’s Thy Grace Part II is one of the most-streamed songs in 2021, according to Bloomplay Music.
