Ghana Olympic President, Ben Nunoo Mensah, has expressed his delight over the significant financial contribution to Ghana’s contingent to the 2024 Olympic Games by the French Embassy in Ghana.

The French Embassy in Ghana has contributed 20,000 Euros to Ghana’s contingent to the 2024 Olympics that will be held in the French capital, Paris, from July 26 to August 11.

The contribution comes ahead of Ghana’s contingent’s departure to Paris to compete in the multisport event on Wednesday, July 10.

Speaking in an interview at the official unveiling of Team Ghana’s Olympics kit in an event that was graced by the Cooperation Attaché of the French Embassy in Ghana, Marine Hayem, the veteran administrator was pleased with the French Embassy in Ghana’s contribution.

“I’m very happy. It’s something that any struggling sports administrator would be happy about and we are very happy especially with the French Embassy. They’ve been with us throughout this journey for the past two years and I think that it’s a good thing.”

“We are very happy even though we would have wished that other organizations especially the Ghanaian companies could come on board. We are pleased with what we have and we hope it would encourage others to come on board and support us.”

Nine athletes have qualified to represent Ghana at this year’s Olympics.
