Give me the mandate and I will give Mahama a showdown – Bawumia

The race is not to the swift nor the battle to the strong, but to the flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, defeating John Mahama of the opposition NDC completely in the 2024 general election is something he can achieve effortlessly.

Dr. Bawumia is very optimistic about breaking the sequential ‘8’ within Ghana’s political history, as he believes leading the NPP in the 2024 presidential election will be the possible way for the party to lead the nation for the third time.

The Vice President, during his campaign tour in the Upper East Region ahead of the internal presidential primary on November 4, urged the delegates to vote massively for him to be the flagbearer of the NPP.

He assured the delegates of a total victory for the NPP if the delegates voted for him to be the presidential candidate in the major 2024 election.

He added that as the Vice to President Akufo-Addo in 2016 and 2020, Mahama was given a showdown, and he will be defeated completely in 2024 as well if he [Bawumia] is given the mandate after the November 4 presidential primary.

“If by God’s grace, you make me the president, I will make much more”.

“In 2020 didn’t we beat him so if they are bringing him again, who do you think can beat John Mahama in 2024?”

“It’s me, it’s me. We beat him in 2016, we beat him in 2020, and I will beat him in 2024. So on November 4, I’m just asking you to give Mahama to me, and I will beat Mahama for you”.

Dr. Bawumia justified that he was able to assist the government for the two terms with good policies that made the nation better and very poised to do more if he is elected to be Ghana’s next president under the New Patriotic Party.

“The work of a vice president is like that of an assistant headmaster or 1st vice constituency chairman. We brought the Ghana Card, no-guarantor system loan, digital address system, and mobile money interoperability. I have been able to bring these ideas, and I will bring more, so vote for me,” he noted.

The tour of the Vice President in the Northern Region was the climax of his journey toward the November 4 presidential primary.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is fiercely contending with the MP for Assin Central in the Central region, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, former Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, and the former MP for Mampong Asante, Francis Addai-Nimo.
