GIJ Shut Down After Two Staff Test Positive For Covid-19
The Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) has shut down following an outbreak of COVID-19 involving two members of staff.
According to a notice by management of the school, “there would be a temporary closure of the Ringway Campus of GIJ from Monday, 25th January 2021.
Work is set to resume on February 1, 2021, subject to the fumigation of the school’s two campuses – Ringway and North Dzorwulu campuses.
Meanwhile, the IT Directorate and the academic affairs will work online in other to provide support services to students so academic work will not come to a halt.
The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has reported Six more people in the country have died from the novel coronavirus.
Also, 679 persons have been infected with the virus bringing the country’s total confirmed cases to 60,794.
The new deaths bring the death toll to 367 and 3,286 active cases.
