The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has stressed the need for Ghanaians to vote against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government in the 2024 general elections.
He described Ghana as a “bleeding country”, in dire need of change.
John Mahama made this comment while addressing NDC supporters at the party’s manifesto launch in Winneba, Central Region, on Saturday, August 24, 2024.
He urged Ghanaians to vote for positive transformation, assuring them that their votes would end cronyism, corruption, state capture, and economic hardships.
“Our dear nation Ghana is bleeding, Ghana’s soul is calling for change. Mother Ghana is crying for its true, genuine and patriotic citizens to rise and reset our beloved nation. Ghanaians can take no more impunity, hardship, hypocrisy, bad governance and state capture that has been inflicted on them by this outing administration.
“We cannot fail Mother Ghana and I therefore urge all to vote for change in December 2024. Your vote will end cronyism, corruption, hardship”.
He also condemned the incumbent government for inflicting hardships on Ghanaians.
Meanwhile, the NDC government has pledged to reopen investigations into unresolved electoral cases if elected in the 2024 general elections.
John Mahama in presenting the party’s manifesto criticized the NPP government for failing to address these cases and provide compensation to those affected.
“We will reopen investigations into major unresolved cases, including the 2020 election killings, Ayawaso West Wuogon election violence, and the murder of Ahmed Hussein-Suale and Silas Wulochamey.”
“All these cases occurred under this NPP administration which they have refused to investigate and even when they get the report they refuse to implement the recommendations, they don’t pay any compensation to those who are affected, we will look at all that, and we will deal with it,” he said.
